Honda Accord's Upcoming Facelift Looks Exciting
First shown in 2022 for the MY2023, the eleventh-generation Honda Accord isn't up for a refresh this year, or at least not yet in North America. However, the midsize sedan has received a slight tweak in China, giving us a preview of the upcoming facelift for the ever-popular nameplate in the US - and it's shaping up to be a looker that's a lot less boring than the outgoing model.

Despite retaining the grille's shape and size, several horizontal chrome strips have been added, while the LED daytime running lights have been slightly extended. The headlamps retain their shape and form, though reports from the People's Republic are saying that their internals have been tweaked.

Subtle But Effective Changes Outside
Another design update can be seen on the slightly chiseled lower bumper, with the air intake and other black elements exuding a little more character versus the current US-spec Accord. Based on the images, the black wheels and the rear end didn't get obvious updates, with the LED light bar staying for the refreshed model. Chinese news sites are reporting that the rear emblem is bigger than before, while the taillights are now smoked-out elements for more pizzazz.

Apart from the mentioned updates, a new Venetian Blue paint color will be introduced to the Chinese market by GAC-Honda, worn by the Accord depicted here. In case you missed it, the skirts and other lower elements are painted in body color, differing from what's being offered stateside. It appears that the changes are only limited to the exterior, as the cabin isn't showing any signs of major tweaks. Those will likely come when an all-new generation arrives.

Same Powertrain Choices, Including A PHEV Model
The same story goes for the powertrain options in China, with that market's version of the 1.5-liter turbocharged four-pot that makes 189 horsepower and 192 lb-ft on the side of the world. Instead of the 2.0-liter hybrid setup that we have in the US for higher trims, the Accord in China gets a plug-in hybrid version, marketed there as e:PHEV.
This new Accord will be officially revealed for the 2026 model year in China in March, according to local reports. It's still unknown if this version will be the one we're getting in the US once American Honda refreshes the current model. If that happens, we're expecting a US debut during the latter half of the year for the next model year since the 2025 model has already been introduced with a slight price hike, though it still starts below $30,000.
